What is a zine?
A zine, or better known as a "fanzine" in its full term, is a small and self published magazine/booklet that focuses on a particular topic. Many fandoms come together to make their own zines frequently, and the Splatoon fandom is no different.What does this zine focus on?
This zine focuses on life and experiences taking place during or relating to winter within the Splatoon universe. OCs, personal interpretations of canon characters, and contributor collaborations are allowed and encouraged.Is prior experience needed?
Not at all. Frozen Ink is dedicated primarily to artists looking to gain experience and connection in zine spaces, thus we plan to prioritize artists with little to no zine experience to give opportunities to those who may struggle with acceptance to other projects. For this zine, we will have a longer creation period so we can work with contributors more directly and provide individual feedback for their pieces when requested.Is this zine for profit? Is it digital or a physical zine?
Frozen Ink Zine classifies itself as a digital-only, fully free zine for the public to enjoy upon release.How many contributors are you looking to recruit?
For now, our cap is 40 artists and 10 writers, but this is fully dependent on the amount of applicants.Will you have guest artists?
Frozen Ink has no plans to invite guest artists at this time.What merchandise will you be including?
Any digital merch that our contributors would like to create! Printables like bookmarks, stickers, phone & PC Wallpapers, papercrafts, posters, emotes, and much more! Our interest check will help us determine which merch our audience is most interested in, and we will do our best to see it is included with the zine at release.Is there an age requirement?
All we ask is for you to be 13+, which is the age minimum to use Discord, our primary source of communication with contributors. Please note that the Frozen Ink zine and contributor space is strictly SFW with no exceptions.Is traditional and 3D allowed?
Yes, 3D art and renders, traditional art, and craft is allowed! For traditional art, we ask that you have a high-quality scan of your piece.What if my question wasn't answered here?
